Orthopedic dentistry focuses on diagnosis, treatment and prosthesis of violations of dento-facial system integrity. protez_1
Each client is treated with a customized approach conditioned with the individual features of oral cavity, jaw and other factors.Dental prosthesis is performed in a strictly individual manner, based on the clinical picture and the patient’s preferences.
The main task is a complete restoration of masticatory function of the teeth. Still, the importance is given not only to restoration of teeth integrity, but to the reappearance of a charming smile as well.

The modern orthopedics applies materials bio-compatible with the organisms. The quality of these materials is constantly enhancing allowing to give a natural look to artificial teeth and to provide the patient with maximum possible comfort.
Today dental prosthesis is at a high level of its development: restoration of teeth is successfully performed with the application of a number of methods such as removable and fixed dentures, as well as dentures placed on implants.

A lumineer is a type of a ceramic veneer.
Lumineers are ultra-thin layers crafted of extremely durable ceramics. Such cosmetic coatings have a thickness of 0.2-0.3 mm. This type of cosmetic coatings is largely demanded despite its high value. Its popularity is ensured by its best aesthetic effect and long duration.

Below are the cases where placement of lumineers is recommended:

luminir_pict– Diastemas (gaps between teeth) and misalignment of teeth,
– Enamel cracks or broken teeth,
– Tooth discoloration. A lumineer is also an alternative method of teeth whitening. Lumineers can be used to change the tooth color which will last very long as lumineers never change their color,
– To restore the flaws of the old orthopedic appliances which are not required to be removed (metal ceramic crown fractures, receding teeth).

Advantages of lumineers:

– There is no need for trimming teeth prior to the placement of lumineers.
– Lumineers help align teeth in a short period of time without brackets.
– Lumineers can replace teeth bleaching.

Specifications of preparation and placement of lumineers

The typical feature of lumineers is that they can be attached to any surface, whether it is a filling, a crown, or dentine. The bonding materials and lumineers are one single system ensuring reliability and permanency of lumineers. The inner surface of each lumineer has a porous structure, which makes it easy to firmly attach the lumineer to the tooth enamel. Eventually, the covering and the tooth become a single whole. At the same time, the covering can be separated from the tooth with a special tool without causing any damage to the tooth, which is another advantage of the method.

1.Metal free, zirconium-oxide based ceramic crowns

metal_keramika_2Zirconium-oxide based ceramic crowns are the latest word in modern prosthetics. They are completely harmless to human health and are extra durable. These crowns are made of porcelain without use of metal.

2.Metal ceramic crowns

metal_keramika_1Metal ceramic crowns and bridges are the most common types of fixed dentures. Their popularity is easily explained by the wonderful combination of beauty and durability. They meet nearly all the expectations of both the patient and the dentist. Metal ceramic crowns are used in cases where the level of tooth decay is so high that the recovery of its integrity and strength is not possible without prosthesis, and metal ceramic bridges are used in cases where one or more teeth are missing.

Removable dentures can be fully and partially adjustable.
The removable complete dentures are tin-made, they can be hard or semi-soft and the removable partial dentures are tin-made and can be hard, flexible or clasp. These dentures are a type of removable partial dentures. It is a convenient, safe and durable structure, which has a number of advantages.

Clasp dentures

The placement of clasp dentures requires several healthy and strong teeth, which will support the base of the clasp dentures. They can be ceramic, all-in-one, as well as healthy natural teeth.
Compared to removable complete dentures, clasp dentures have the following advantages:protez_4
1. They are distinguished by high durability and long-lasting service.
2. It is easier for patients to get used to clasp dentures, as far as the palate is covered only partially.
3. The restoration of the entire set of teeth is possible even if there are few strong teeth left.
4. The placement of the clasp dentures will not affect the patient’s speech.

5. No inconveniences occur while eating.
6. There is no need to remove clasp dentures at night

1. High flexibility
2. Reliable fixation
3. Light weight
4. Quick adaptation on part of the patient
5. No need for adjustment of supporting teeth
6. They are metal-free

In addition to high durability, nylon dentures are resistant to significant loading.

Tin-made removable partial dentures

These dentures are recommended in case the defect cannot be corrected by means of a bridge. They are mainly used where masticatory teeth are missing.

Removable partial dentures with clasps

Clasps are metal hooks via which the dentures are fixed to the supporting teeth, thus ensuring the equal distribution of masticatory loading on teeth tissues. Placement of clasp dentures does not require special adjustment of supporting teeth. These dentures are highly durable and reliable. In addition to clasps, attachments can be also used which are micro-locks that fix the denture to the supporting teeth. Micro-locks are placed on the supporting tooth crown.

The lifespan of these cosmetic coatings crafted of modern materials is fairly long. In addition, this method of recovery continues to enjoy high demand as far as it is pain-free and it offers the best aesthetic result in the shortest time possible.

Below are the cases where placement of veneers is recommended:

– Uneven teeth,

The advantages of veneers

vinir_pict_3Treatment with veneers has a number of advantages:

  • veneers provide a very life-like and natural tooth appearance,
  • the color of veneers is not affected by coffee, cigarettes, they are stain resistant and color stable,
  • – placement of veneers prevents formation of dental plaque and tartar

Ceramic and composite veneers

According to the type of material they are made of, veneers are classified into two categories: ceramic and composite.
1.Composite veneers can be placed in two ways: fabricated by a dental technician in a dental laboratory, and later bonded to the tooth (indirect method), or by attaching the veneer layer directly to the patient’s tooth with a special glue (direct method). This method is applied when one or two teeth are to be recovered. The restoration is acquired only by one appointment. The life span of a directly built-in veneer is up to five years. The laboratory method provides a better result and a longer service.
2.Ceramic veneers are prepared only by the laboratory method. Unlike composite veneers, ceramic veneers enable recovering a larger number of teeth, they are more durable, long-lasting and color stable.
